Remove licenses under WMP10? |
|
|
Hi,
Does anyone happen to know how I can remove DRM-licenses under WMP10 for
debugging/testing purposes? In WMP9 you could just remove the drmv2.lic
file in the DRM folder, but this doesn't seem to have any effect under
WMP10 so I suppose they've stored the licenses elsewhere.
Any ideas? Thanx in advance!

Just delete the whole DRM folder. You will need to individualize again
after this if you require individualization.

After some testing I've noticed two things:
1) If I remove the file drmstore.hds in the DRM folder, the licenses seem
to disappear, at least I cannot play a movie even if I had a license
before.
2) No file in the DRM folder increases in size if I add a new license.
So my conclusion is that the licenses are stored elsewhere and that
drmstore.hds might work as a pointer to that location.
Does anyone know some more details about this?
My next step will be to check with help of a file/process monitor which
files are involved when a license is stored..

Embarrassingly enough, I'll have to answer my own question=)
Licenses under WMP10 are stored in the drmstore.hds file. The file size
does grow after all, just a bit slower than I'd expected.
Anyway, taking away that file (after closing WMP) will delete our
licenses.
Thanx for bearing with me!
