0xC00D11BB: Cannot play the file
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is
either not supported by the Player or not supported by the server.

It's a "mms" protocol. It used to work perfectly in the Windows media
Player, so i know it is the right one...
I have istalled a new processor and mother board. Everything works just
fine, even better. But, the streaming media (video and audio) I use to be
able to see, is not working and that is th amessage I get...

I tried:
-disable the firewall and alowed the exception to the WMP
- uninstall and reinstall the player.
- played with the protocols and proxies.
- Curious: when I tried to open the same URL in the Real Player, the error I
get is that "WMP cannot play the file because the protocol is not supported"

Thank you!!

You said "played with all the protocols and proxies" but didn't
specify the changes you made, so we can assume they were random.

First have a look at this page and see if all the boxes are checked :
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/player/playererrors.aspx#c00d11bb_0x00000000

Unless you have a media server on your machine, files beginning in
mms:// can only be played from a streaming server somewhere on the
internet or other network. Local files should not have "mms" in the
file name. Maybe it would help to provide the link to the file so we
can check if the "server supports" the mms stream ?

Thank you very much, Neil!!
I have tried, I believe all possible combinations of protocols and
no-protocols at all.
The streaming media is anything that has to be played in the Iexplorer,
actually. Anyway, i used to be able to copy the location from "properties"
and play it in the WMP.
It gives now, that i have reinstalled the OS (new motherboard and chip) this
error that Microsoft doesn't find if you enter it for a search.
Also, the radio I used to listen to: http://eventos.mi.com.ar/mitre.asx
I get the same error. I checked it with my laptop and works, it's the link
for WMP...
Thank you a lot again!!!
