Hello.

I'm using 127.0.0.1:9 as proxy setting in IE to disable any programs using
the IE engine to stop them from being used as full-featured remote backdoor
(hey, IE has as least 46 unpatched security holes).
Unfortunately WMP seems to use these proxy-settings too even when explicity
saying "no proxy" in the network options dialogue. This is very bad when
being used as plugin to playback media content in a webbrowser (Firefox,
but it's the same for Opera).
How can I disable this behaviour without breaking up these settings
(disabling the proxy trick in exchange for uninstalling IE completely or
disallowing acccess to mshtml.dll, which creates a lot of problems)?
