wmp6.4 cannot open clips from web pages |

windows 98se, ie6 sp1, mplayer2 (6.4.07.1112)
after clicking on a movie clip nothing happens, just
says "start downloading", I see the mouse pointer busy,
then i wait forever, player doesn't open, no download...
note: i download with flashget, open a clip with player,
there's nothing wrong with the player.
any help?

1. Is the content actually streamable? If not, then you need to wait until
it's downloaded completely.
2. IE proxy settings?
3. WMP 6.4 does have some problems with streaming. Ever tried WMP7 or WMP9?

no, it's a simple mpeg and the player does not even appear on my screen.
