Can't render: doesn't work out of Movie Maker, Encoder, Vega |

Hello,
I am having troubles across the board on my Windows Media Center PC. I can't
seem to render anything:
- In Movie Maker, I can't get beyond the second step in the "Make Movie"
wizard. Doesn't want to "save" or "render" anything.
- In WinMe Encoder, I can't even convert a file - trying to down-encode a
high-res .wmv into a web-ready .wmv.
- In Vegas Video, I don't even have the capability to render a project into
the .wmv file format. It says the templates are not available, and if I try
to create a custom template it still does not allow me.
In all it seems like a broken encoder engine if there is such a thing. But I
can watch .wmv files no prob with WinMe Player (10), and I can watch the
recorded TV without any troubles via MCE UI or via WinMe Player.
Any suggestions on how to fix?
