Windows Media Player for Mac |
|
|
I'm sure that most Macintosh users are aware that Microsoft doesn't
give ONE SH*T about Macintosh users, and that the Microsoft Business
Unit will do EVERYTHING in its powers to DESTROY Mac users' computing
experiences. Despite their temporarily obligatory attempts to keep
some semblance of Office going for the Mac until they discontinue that
product, that's about as MUCH as you will get out of the Microsoft
Business Unit. They don't even read these newsgroups, which are
supposedly a "support" forum for Mac users.
Does anybody really think that Bill Gates & Steve Ballmer want to HELP
Mac users in any way? Bill Gates & Steve Ballmer have SPECIFICALLY
TOLD the Mac Business Unit to CRIPPLE Microsoft's Windows Media Player
for the Mac as much as possible, and the Business Unit has complied.
As a result, what are we left with?
A piece of crap Windows Media Player 9 that hasn't been updated in
almost 3 years, that doesn't play THE VAST MAJORITY of the streaming
content on the Internet. We're talking about MAJOR websites that
stream video: sites like nbc.com, MTV.com, vh1.com, and MANY MANY more.
NONE OF THESE SITES work with Windows Media Player for the Mac, and
MICROSOFT IS DOING NOTHING TO CORRECT THIS.
We should start a class action lawsuit against Microsoft. Or better
yet, get those major sites to switch to QuickTime, which really is
cross-platform & is updated simultaneously on both platforms.
Never think that the Macintosh Business Unit is your friend -- they are
your worst enemy.

Despite the fact that Windows Media Player is available on the Mactopia
site, the product is not made by the Mac Business Unit. Though I agree that
Windows Media Player for Mac leaves much to be desired, I don't know how
anyone outside of the company would know Bill Gates's & Steve Ballmer's
orders concerning this product. I also find it hard to believe that the Mac
Business Unit is planning to discontinue Office, considering I've read
nothing legitimate to that effect.
In the newsgroups for the products that are made by the Mac Business Unit,
there are some people from Microsoft who post on occasion, and probably read
more. However, they don't have to post at all; if someone wants interaction
from a Microsoft employee, he or she can call Microsoft Product Support
Services.

I agree, yet MS Office for the Mac is not bad.
