Friends,

Since serving a unicast file means that each person / connection
starts the video playing again... ie: 10 folks connect so there are
10 streams at 100 kps ..so that uses 1000 kbps of bandwith of a T1
connection...

But what happens in a muticast .... certainly more folks might connect to
the server... but stricly speaking in terms of video - bandwidth... if it is
multicast would a single 100kbps broadcast ONLY
use 100 kbps even if 100 folks were watching?

That's correct. Multicast is a broadcast method of sending the data.
You could think of it like TV - it doesn't matter how many people
tune in, you're still sending out the same amount of data.

Be aware though that every router between your server and clients
must be enabled for multicast - if even one of them is not it won't work.
