Should Windows Media Encoder be able to process HDTV? |
|
|
Hi,
I have a Media Center PC. I record SD and HD programs. I am trying to
use Windows Media Encoder to convert the files. The SD programs convert
fine. The HD programs required that I install the Elecard MPEG decoder.
I recently upgraded the Elecard decoder and Windows Media Encoder can
no longer read the HD files. It can still process the SD files just
fine.
Any ideas on what might be wrong?
Thanks,
John

WME handles HD files fine, are you sure the Elecard codec is installed
correctly?

I'll check. It was working perfectly until I upgraded to 4.0.1. What
version are you running?
Do you have Elecard set as your "preferred" decoder?
Does Elecard work properly for you in WMP10? The video doesn't look
right for me.
Thanks,
John
