Windows Media DRM XPT File |
|
|
After researching getting Windows Media DRM to work in Mozilla/Firefox
it appears the only way it is going to work is if someone creates the
required XPCom Type Library(.xpt) for the
application/x-drm-v2(npdrmv2.dll) object. Does anyone know if Microsoft
has already done this?

Wrong. The only working way is to use Java.
However, there's no XPT required, but you'd just need to configure
security settings within Chrome, which is devasting.
Anyway, you'd be better more aware where you're talking about creating
browser exploits. |

Sebastian,
Regardless of what you may choose to beleive I am not a hacker and I am
not looking to implement anything mischieveous through Microsoft's DRM.
If you choose to beleive that and have nothing helpful to say then
please do not follow up to anymore of my posts for help. I ask this
because you may well be giving other people in this forum who have
helpful information a reason not to post it.

As there is nothing non-mischieveous that can be implemented on a
rootkit like MSDRM, you're quite lacking of arguments.

This is no forum, this is Usenet. A place for discussion, not a customer
support.

I gave you helpful information:
1. Microsoft didn't implement a XPT for MSDRM.
2. You wouldn't need it. The Netscape API provides the full plugin
interface through LiveConnect, but you'd need to lower security settings
that have been restricted by the Mozilla programmers for good reason.
3. There's no reason to try implementing DRM or other computer fuckup
methodes through a webbrowser. Just handle it with the application
that's supposed to handle it: Windows Media Player. |

I haven't tried license predelivery through Mozilla/Firefox. Does it
differ significantly from how MS recommends you handle Netscape
browers?
I should note that under "about:plugins" it does list "Microsoft®
DRM", so it looks like the right stuff is there.
I manage all of my stuff directly through API calls to the WMF SDK, so
I'm afraid that my help here will be quite limited.
