I haven't had any problems with the encoder till now. System crash, so
reinstall everything... including operating system. Ran all windows updates
(including SP2 and windows media 10 player). I then tried to install the
Encoder but every time I try... it fails at"Installing the Windows Media
Runtime files..." Any bright ideas?

Hi MusicMan,

When you say that you "reinstalled everything, including the operating
system" do you mean that you FDISK and reformated the drive or that you
reinstalled windows ontop of itself?

Also, may I ask if you installed any third party codec packs before you
attempted to install Windows Media Encoder 9 Series?
