Running both Windows Media Player and Encoder simultaneously |
|
|
Hi:
Here is the situation: I would like to run Windows Media Player to provide
background music through a sound board for an auditorium. Fine, I can do
that just fine. I would also like to use Windows Media Encoder at the same
time, on the same PC, to record an audio signal coming from the same
soundboard. The signal will include both the background music played from
the WM Player, plus any other audio from the various mics fead into the same
board.
When I attempt this I get feedback thru the audio system. In fact, if I am
playing music from the player, as soon as I fire up the Encoder, the feedback
starts. I can run one or the other just fine, just not together.
I have attempted to set the audio output device for the Player to be
different than the default, in an attempt to seperate the output from the two
Windows Media products (I am assuming that Windows Media Encoder ports to the
default audio device a "monitor" signal and that this was causing the
feedback).
Any ideas how I can get around this feedback?
Thanks.
Bruce.

Best bet would be to use a audio mixing desk.
