Encoding Pictures Files (.bmp or .jpg) Results in Hang |
|
|
I have attempted to encode picture files (.bmp or .jpg for example) to
..wmv with no success. I get no error messages. The encoder starts
encoding, but it never finishes, just never-ending ".............".
I have tried several different encoding options (w/ and w/o audio, or
cbr and vbr, or single and double pass). Everything gives the same
results and this has occured with several different file sources. Any
suggestions / solutions?
Thanks,
Travis

You may try using Windows Movie Maker, which is better suited for the kind of
results you are looking for.

Thank you for your reply,
I will check into that possibility. But, do you know if Windows Movie
Maker supports command line controls? I need this ability so that I
can integrate it within my own software.
I just think it's disappointing that Microsoft advertises support for
..jpg, .gif, and .bmp files with Windows Media Encoder and yet they
don't encode properly (at least for me yet).
The reason I need them as .wmv files is that the Media Library for
Media Player does not allow adding these picture files in their
original format to the library. Although, Media Player displays them
in their original format fine.
So an alternative solution for my problem would be if anyone knows a
way to add these file types to the media library without converting
them to .wmv files.
