I am trying to encode a video-only mpeg file which I created from a Windows
Media Center Edition recorded TV show (an MS-DRV file). But, I receive the
error "Error Cannot allocate memory because no size has been
set.(0x80040212)." I created the mpg file using graphedit.exe. Note, the
mpg file plays fine with Windows Media Player. But it won't encode into a
wmv. (Other mpg files that I've tried to encode work okay).

Any ideas what this error means? Size of what? Thanks!

Did you convert the DVR-MS file to mpeg?
If yes, is it MPEG2?
In this case, which decoder are you using?

Yes, I converted the DVR-MS file to MPEG2. I ran a utility on the mpeg file
and it appears to be a valid MPEG-2 Transport Stream.

I am using the NVIDA MPEG decoder.

Note, I can play the mpeg file in Windows Media Player with both the NVIDA
decoder and the InterVideo decoder.

Any ideas what the error VFW_E_SIZENOTSET is telling me?

Thanks for your input.

More info: If I attempt to load the mpeg file into Windows Movie Maker then I
get the error, "The file C:\testv.mpg is an empty file."

Thanks for any insight you may have...

WME and most decoders won't do a good job if the MPEG2 stream is not
"perfectly compliant".
You may try using the Elecard decoder instead of the Nvidia one.
If you need to change your filter configuration you may want to try the
tutorial here:
