WME 9 hangs when opening a .MPG file |
|
|
I have seen a few posts about the same problem and all seem to say it simply
takes a long time... It actually takes a very very long time :). I have also
read this might be related to your MPEG Decoder. I have tried 3 different
MPG Decoders on 3 different ´fresh´ machines, and I still have the same
problem. (I have tried nVidia (4.x), Intervideo (5.x) & Cyberlink (5.x), and
all have the problem except for nVidia which runs nicely in an older machine
I have with an older and much slower processor -P4 @ 1.6Ghz and i845
chipset- the other two have 2.8Ghz P4 procs and
i865 chipset, could this be the problem???)
Which .MPG Decoders are known to work without that big "delay" on
opening files? Any suggestions?
Also, has people been able to use the Encoder without the opening speed
problem on a P4 @ 2.8Ghz i865 chipset or similar machine? I am trying to
pinpoint where this problem is because of course I want to use my faster
processors to get faster encoding times
Thanks a lot!

Intervideo and Elecard codecs have been known to have the best compatibility.
