Actually no, it's just a Windows Media Encoder.

And I answered--since you apparently couldn't read the Help file or the FAQ
:)

BTW, you're welcome for the assistance.

Actually no, it's just a Windows Media Encoder.

but i was refering to Windows Media Player, which is a "Windows Media
Player" - but it can also play .mp4 & .3gp with the appropriate codecs -
hence it seemed quite a reasonable question at the time - but it evidently
was totally unreasonable

not to worry - i wont be bothering the group again with my ridiculous
questions - i'll just wait for
microsoft.public.windowsmedia.encoder.forThickies

that's more my speed

I was just having fun with what you wrote. You wrote "it's" [sic]. I
think you meant to write "There's"? Sorry for trying to have a sense of
humor :)

I think you need to re-read what I wrote in response to your question.
Would it have been less insulting if I wrote:

"No. It is a Windows Media encoder."

Capitalization appears to be something you're not too concerned about, but,
if the above is more acceptable, I re-submit it as above with apologies...

Perhaps, rather than just specifying the URL, as I did originally, I needed
to prefix it with:

"Please see this URL:"

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/encoder/faq.aspx?section=CODECS&question=CODECS3#NAME_CODECS"

You need to develop a sense of humor. Especially if you're going to ask
for voluntary help in these newsgroups. There is nothing insulting in any
of my responses.

And I repeat, you're welcome for the assistance, dangling the possibility
for you to redeem yourself.
