I need ASFChop. The only way I know of is to get it via an install of
an old WM software that I want to avoid.
Thanks!

If you need to trim a WMV file, use Windows Media File Editor. It comes with
Windows Media Encoder 9.

Microsoft® Windows Media® File Editor is a tool that enables you to open and
edit a Windows Media file with a .wmv, .wma, or .asf file name extension.
For example, you can trim the start and end points of a file, and add
attributes, markers, and script commands. You can also import and export
header files if you want to save your edits or reuse edits you previously
made.

If you really need ASFChop, you will need ASFChop.OCX too. Otherwise you
will get the error message:

Error: ASFCHOP.OCX is not registered. Please run regsvr32 asfchop.ocx from
the directory where ASFCHOP.EXE is located

asfchop [-switch parameter] ...

Switches:
-in file The input filename (required)
-out file The output filename
-start time The time (in the input .asf timeline) to begin the
output .asf
-end time The time to end the output .asf
-duration time The duration of the output .asf
Note: Only one of -duration or -end may be specified
-eccspan on/off Error correction on or off (default: use input eccspan)

-script file The name of the script file
If -out is not specified, the input file will be scanned but no file
will be output.

Times should be specified as hours:minutes:seconds.tenths
