Video Input Goes Black On Start Encoding |
|
|
I am setting up a live broodcast using 2 sources: a live
feed from a MINI DV camcorder supporting both video and
audio and a prerecorded WMV file. When I turn on Windows
Media Encoder and plug in my camera I can see the
camera's live video feed in the Input field of the
encoder. When I "Start Encoding," the video feed from the
camera goes black in both the input and output windows.
The encoder does correctly stream the Audio from the
camera and all of the Meta data. I can also switch
sources to the prerecorded WMV file and the stream works
perfectly with video, audio and meta. The encoder just
refuses to process/stream the video feed from the camera.
When I "Stop Encoding" I can see the video feed from the
camera inside the input window again.
Any suggestions will be greatly appriciated. Here's a
little bit of information that might help you: I am
attempting to setup this broadcast remotely on a computer
in the Czech Republic. I connect using "gotomypc" and the
computer has 1.33ghz processor and 256 ram. I have
lowered all settings to a 58k stream just to test
processing video from this slower computer and no luck. I
have unistalled and reinstalled the Encoder several
times. I have exported the exact encoder profile and
tested on a local computer and the stream worked
perfectly. (video, audio, etc) So the profile seems to be
correct, I just can not get this Encoder to process the
video.

I have the same problem, I'm using a sony dcr-trv351 eith USB connection, in
the preview I can see the image (input) but when I try to start encoding the
input and output screen are black, but the audio works fine.
What's wrong???
I testes on two pcs, one is windows 2000 server SP4 and all patchs, second
is windows XP PRO SP2.
thanks for your responde.

I recommend you try using FireWire (IEEE 1394).

I don't know but it will give better image quality. In the US, you can get
a FireWire card and cable for < $20. |
