Hi Dan,
Was a third party codec or codec pack installed just before you lost the
ability to play MP3 files?
This error usually means that your MP3 decoder has been broken by something
that was installed on your system.
The easiest way to fix this should be to find the file l3codeca.acm on your
system, rename the file to l3codeca.bak, and then to run Windows Media
Player -> Help -> Check for Updates so that WMP can replace the
l3codeca.acm MP3 decoder that it needs to play MP3 files. Please refer to
