wmv file problem with Media Player 10 (and 9 previously!) Er |

I run a music group on Yahoo called mygeneration. Someone has uploaded
three .wmv files.
1. plays but the screen is strange colours - green and pink mainly
2. the others won't play at all and I get the error message Error
C00D1197, "Cannot Play The Specified File"
WMP plays all other formats ok.
SYSTEM - Windows XP home, WNP 9 upgraded to 10. I hoped upgrading
would solve the problems but no.
I upgraded to XP from 98 SE. Didn't uninstall WMP. Don't know if this
caused the problem.
GSpot detects the follwing Windows media codecs -
