can't download mp3's |
|
|
I was browsing through the cds at cdnow.com and I saw that they had a free
download of a song available, so I downloaded it. When I then tried to open
the mp3 file, a box popped up saying this:
"This application has failed to start because MMVCP70.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
I tried to download another song, but the same message appeared. I don't
know if this problem is related to Windows Media Player or not, but does
anyone know what file this is and if and how I can get it back?

Music Match software perhaps?

Reinstall Music Match or look for the file on www.dll-files.com |

I just downloaded MMVCP70.dll and I still can't open musicmatch. I couldn't
before, but I didn't use it before so it didn't matter so much. I could at
one point, then I don't remember what happened...I was just glad it wasn't
popping up every time I put a cd anymore. Would it help me to use my backup
system restore thing or would that mess up anything I have saved to my
computer now? I don't want to lose or change anything. Should I reinstall
Music Match and how do I do this? Is it online and free? I don't know what
I'm doing ;).

I meant to also say that the same message that was popping up earlier when I
was trying to download music is now popping up when I try to open Music
Match, after I've downloaded the file. |

I'm downloading Musicmatch from a website, though I don't understand what
happened with the one I had. If some of the components of this program are
already on my computer will the new installment of musicmatch recognize this
and not reinstall those parts or will my computer have more space used up for
no reason? |

Dunno for sure - why not ask the Music Match folks? This is a Windows
Media Player newsgroup. |
