No sound on .wmv files |

Windows Media Player 10 is streaming the video of wmv files but is not
playing back any sound. It plays back sound on all other file types. You
can also see the sound levels going up and down when streaming wmv files, so
WMP10 is "aware" of the sound. Its just not coming out of my speakers. But
it does play mp3, mpg, etc, just not the sound on wmv files. Also I know
there is nothing wrong with the file as this happens with 95% (but strangely
not all) wmv files, and most of those I can verfiy do work on other machines.
I've also downloaded all of the updates and codec's I could find on
www.microsoft.com. I'm completely stuck. Please help me.
