Slow Loading Files in Media Player 10 |
|
|
I'm having a problem with files loading very slowly in Windows Media Player
Version 10.
All files take for ever to load. They usually take around 2 minutes or more
to load. Once loaded, they play fine and do all other functions.
Using Windows XP Home Edition with SP2 and the latest Media Player from
Microsoft.
Any idea what would be causing this?

Local files or remote (ie over internet) files? Check for spyware
bogging down the system. |

These are all local files. Files that download directly from the internet
open immediately. Those stored on the PCs harddrive open slowly.
I've check the PC for viruses, spyware, pest and other things using Symantec
Antivirus, PestPatrol, AdAware and spybot. Nothing shows up.
Any other ideas?
