I'm having this problem on all my PC's.

I'm using the wmcmd.vbs script to do command line level batch conversions of media files to WMV format. This was working quite well for me a while ago (a month back or so) but recently I started to get the above error code immediately after the script starts.

The wmcmd.vbs script is unmodified in it's original Microsoft-provided form so it shouldn't be a script issue (I'd think).

I even tried formatting my drive, reinstalling XP Pro from scratch (I'm a computer tech...I do this alot), installing my DVD player s/w (CyberLink's Power DVD 6) and working from there but I get the same error. :-S

I've tried passing all my parameters via the command line, also tried via profile file, also tried without any parameters. Same result.

Original media files playback in WMP just fine so source is good.

I have v.5.6 of the MS Windows Script Host installed.

Anyone have any suggestions on what I should look at to correct the problem? I've done searches but it seems that the error message listed above is also a generic error code for an installer as well (so no help there)

TIA
