Corrupt information with album info |

I have WMP 10. Windows xp,sp2 on a clean Machine. Whenever I go on the net to update album information, WMP changes all my music to ONE ARTIST, ALL THE SAME ALBUM! All of my music is now Shawn Colvin, "Cover Girl". What is going on? The other files that were corrupted were fine until I tried to update album information on a totally different album.
Also, how do I delete the files in WMP, or purge WMP of this bad info? Please help, I'm desperate!
