Hi All,

I just put together a fresh system of XP pro and then loaded the Yahoo
Music Engine on it. And by gollee it didn't work.

Luckily another person had already posted a microsoft workaround (see
below, thanks!!). It turns out that moving the old DRM folder out of
the way fixed the problem.

Note: I tried updating to the V10 of media player - no luck. I tried
backing up the licenses but got the same inane permission error from
media player. Only moving the DRM folder seemed to kill the problem.

Seems like the Yahoo Music Engine is really suffering from some M$
bugs. I can see this problem even on my laptop (now that I am
sensitive to seeing this in the download log) - that has been working
mostly pretty well for months. I wonder if this is related to the
music engine just locking up solid from time to time???

Anyway for you Yahoo Music Engine users - check the link below - it
worked for me! Good luck, and please pray to Bill G that M$ fixes a
big or two in the DRM code.

Ed, try this:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;810422

-------------
and the relevant fix (from the tech report):
6. Change the name of the DRM folder to DRMbackup. To do so: a. Locate
the DRM folder on your hard disk. For more information about how to
find the DRM folder, see step 3 earlier in this article.
b. Right-click the DRM folder, and then click Rename.
c. Type drmbackup, and then press ENTER.
d. Quit Windows Explorer.
