Trying to indexing a file |

Due to an unknown reason (I am completely sure that I did select the index
file box when setting the encoding parameters), the encoded file is not
indexed and I cannot use it in other applications such as Movie Maker or
Producer.
I have tried to re-index the file using Windows Media File Editor but I get
the message "Failed to save file".
Then I tried to re-encode the original file, but the Encoder fails due to
"currupted data" just in the middle of the 40min-long video.
Is there any way to recover the file?
