You've deleted wmploc.dll from your system32 directory. You will need to
restore that file before you can continue.

You are right, that file is not in my system 32 folder, however, if I can't
find one on my hardrive anywhere, where do I come up with out?
Mysteriously after numerous attemps to load media player, version 6.4 has
returned, however I am worried about updating to even version 9 if media
player again will disappear.
Any suggestions, and have a Happy new Year.

try the upgrade, you have nothing to lose. or put the xp cd in and try repair, or search to find the file. _________________ jar |

You can view mp10setup.exe in WinZIP and get a wmploc.dll from there.

Re: Unable to install media player upgrade |

I restored the file with no ill effect. I then went on to reload Media player
9/10, and the program appears to be loaded, and my default options returned
as a choice, however the program itself will not load. When I play an audio
cd, media player will not load when given the choice, and I end up using real
player by default eventhogh real play is not specified.
It appears I am still missing something. media player does not even give me
any error messages.
Any more advise. (Media player 6.4 is still there and loads from the root
folder.)
