Error message C00D11CD: Unknown error |
|
|
I have ripped the CD to the media player and it is giving me this error
message when I try to burn it to another CD. I have WMP 10 and Windows XP.
Any help that you can give will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ebirney

This is the most common post to this group, if you care to read before
posting.
See the usual articles from a simple web search on the error code. |

If the file is that size then it is almost certainly shortcut to the
actual WMA file. Any substantial video file is not really practical for
sending over IM. |

PS always take a copy and paste of the original file if it's important
family stuff ! You never know when it might get damaged or lost, so
copy it to a CD or memory stick or similar.

Probably any MSN messenger files would be stored in My Documents, but
in the "My Received Files" folder, so I'd check in there for a file
date which was created on the day you had the IM (or MSN) chat.
Could be 1.56 MB quite reasonably (which is a minutes worth or so).
Or, a shortcut in My Recent Documents of 1.5kb might point to the
original file in My Received Files ;-)
You could help us to help you by getting GSpot program, and running
that to determine the file type that you've got.
http://www.headbands.com/gspot/download.html and GSpot221.exe :
Load the file in GSpot and press the Render button at the bottom of
the screen. It should report something about Directshow "could / could
not render this file", as well as some information about the type of
file and codec used.
Posting that info here is the best way to get the information on the
codec you need to view the file.

Anything really that can burn a CD - and Nero is ideal for that.
You're just storing data on that CD as a backup (rather than a video
that can be played in a DVD player), so you'd need to use a computer
to play it back - but it can be played from the CD or recovered if you
lost the file on your PC any time - such as if you have to reinstall
or your hard disk fails.
