I went through hell trying to fix this. It's VERY simple. Use your finder and
type in the word "preferences." Scroll down to the Windows Media Player
prefernce file and trash it. If it won't empty, just hold the alt key while
selecting the empty trash operation.

Click on the WMP icon and WMP will then boot all of a sudden and make its
own new set of prefernces.
