ID3, TAG and...tell me what is this |

In a MP3 file I haven't ID3 or TAG section but at the end of the file I see
this:

I would like to know how this section work and wich kind of TAG is it.

No idea, however I don't think your guess that 27 E4 03 00
is to be read as the offset 0x0003E427 is right. The strings
are prefixed by a length WORD, so the "tag" starts at
0x0003E426 and not 0x0003E427.
16 00-54 78 61 74 ... 65 72 65 20 : 22 CHARs "That ... ere"
10 00-4D 65 6C 6C ... : 16 CHARs "Mell..."
and so on

27 E4 03 00 is what I see as address and not 26 E4 03 00. 26 E4 03 00 and 27
E4 03 00 are the length of the next string. Is possible this is a personal
TAG of Brava Software Inc? If I open this file with MusicMatch and open the
IDxx window all the fields are filled with the right data.

It could be byte # 3E427 with a 1 based count (i.e. file starts at 1 not
0). That would translate to a 0 based offset of 0x3E426.
It's not a tag format I recognize as a standard like ID3 or Lyrics3, but
apparently it's popular enough for Music Match to know about it. |
