Why does wmp10 UNDO adv tag info automatically? |
|
|
Whenever I change artist info (for my AC/DC tracks specifically, i think),
WMP10 undoes the changes I make, reverting back to what they were. Eg: Some
tracks were AC/DC some just AC and some DC, I selected everything and put
AC/DC in the artist entry in the artist info tab... Seconds later I find them
reverting back to their original artist info one by one.. Its pretty spooky
actually. Couldnt be because of the '/' sign could it? These tracks have
been.. um.. downloaded. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Yes, it could well be that - it's used as an Artist delimiter and I
seem to remember reading about this before. If it's not going to kill
the way your library looks, have you tried using a Backslash character
AC\DC
instead?

If you have update album information from the internet turned on, then
WMP can and will overwrite your changes. Offline backup is about the
only reliable solution.

Thanks for the suggestions. Tried using different characters and turning the
auto internet update OFF.. it still stubbornly persists.. Guess i'l just have
to get used to it..
The weird thing is that i tried editing tag info using sonique (its
cumbersome cuz every track needs to be taken care of individually) and after
wmp reverts it, sonique still shows updated info and that info IS actually a
part of the .mp3, just that wmp decides to display it otherwise.. Its quite
dum, hope MS is reading this!
Cheers guys,
Donny. |
