Using Safari 1.2.3, WMP9, and OSX 10.3.5, I get a message in a new window
indicating the window is blocked and instruction to "click here" which takes
me to a window to select the streaming player and connection speed. I make
selections, then click to accept settings and nothing happens. Everything
works fine when I use I.E. 5.2.

I have the same problem here. It looks like they use some coding in their
javascript that Safari doesn't like. Not many options there :-\
The first window is blocked because it is an auto-popup (same thing used for
advertisement usually). The problem is with the window allowing you to select
the speed.
I tried in Mozilla and it all went on fine there too. You can use their
browser if you don;t want to use IE.
