Progressively Load with MMS

Is it possible to progressively load a WMP file using MMS protocol ?

I need several movies to cache on the user's hard drive....while everything
else is real time streamed....

If MMS can not progressively load, I guess I need to install Apache...
With this approach I assume, I would change the source mms directory to a
directory within htdocs .....Then I could use 2 different protocols for the
same file:
mms://pdq.xyz.com/vod/mymovie.wmv
or
http://www.pdq.xyz.com/vod/mymovie.wmv

Is this the best way ?

This sounds like Fast Cache in Windows Media which is controlled on the server
side:

Is Fast Cache the same as Progressive/File Download ?
Does not seem to be the case from looking at the msdn docs

Worst case is that I'll install apache and put the mms source folder in
there...

File download and streaming are not the same thing.
