When I try and run video on several sites i get an error message and it
won't play. I reinstalled WMP and attempted to run the video on
Safari, IE and netscape, none worked.
The error message says: "This page has content of MIME type
"application/x=oleobject." Because you don't have a plug-in installed
for this MIME type, this content can't be displayed."

If anyone knows how to fix this problem or where to find the plug in
please let me know.

Well as it says, it's a OLE object... THat might not be supported by the
version of the plug-in that's available to us :-(

Hi mikeben!
Sorry that i'm not posting a solution, just thoughts on the matter.

While you were posting your question, I was experiencing the same
problem!... just now found this Support/Discussion Group... tried video last
night and audio this morning with the same results...none! This last error
message was identical to yours except for "...content of MIME type
"application/x-mplayer2" .... also said "You do not have a plug-in installed
for this MIME type, but one should be available... ". My take on it, was that
the "plug-in" IS the Media Player itself, & it's not being recognized. This
isn't my own computer (Powerbook G4 Titanium) but I spend a great deal of
time on it. (my own iBook G3, has a downtime that exceeds its "up & running"
time, but the WinMediaPlayer9 works like a charm on it!). I just reinstalled
the Media Player yesterday (on the G4), as I've tried to get this working
several other times in the last year+. I promise to post any info that I
happen upon, that may help you or that resolves the problem 4 me. I was
hoping if I showed you mine you'd show me yours...helpful info or solutions,
that is!
**OR ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE with advice... that happens to read this. I know
you tech-wiz-genius types, love to share your know-how... besides, I still
have to figure out how to fix my iBook, ugh!!!
Good luck to ya mikeben! Debby

mplayer is not supported by WMP and I don;t believe that MPlayer X
provides a plug-in for that. You could though download the file and play
it directly in MPlayer X...
