Audio Codec missing? |
|
|
Hi!
I want to encode with freshly installed WME. But, when I try to encode, I
have this error message appearing at the bottom of the WME window:
The audio codec needed is not installed on this system. (0x0C00D0BC2)
I've tried to install the last codecs downloaded from Microsoft website,
same result...
Any idea?
Thanks.

Which version of media player do you have on the system ? AFAIK you
need WMP10 to install certain audio codecs such as the low latency
audio codec.
But since you didn't mention what codec you tried to encode *with*,
we're just guessing here !

This tool is helpful:
http://www.updatexp.com/sherlock-codec-detective.html
Also, update your Windows Media Player to Version 10 and it should solve the
problem for you.

128...
Thanks.

Sorry I wa sbeing a bit stupid last night. That error afaik is to do
with being unable to read the source audio - as Egghead suggested, you
need to run GSpot on the file, and compare the results to what
Sherlock says you have installed to decode the audio.
GSpot : http://www.headbands.com/gspot/
The solution will be to find and install a compatible audio codec to
*decode* the file's audio - you don't currently have an appropriate
one to do that.
Post the GSpot results here if you can't find the codec. |

Neil,
Gspot is unable to open this file.
My source is a m2t file in HD from my HDV camescope, edited rendered with
Adobe Premiere Pro. This m2t file is mpeg2 with high bitrate for video and
raw mpeg1 audio.
I'm a bit surprised that WME is unable to convert it...
Excuse my bad English writing...
Cheers.
