I known that Windows Media Rights Manager 9 can support many Windows OS, such
as Windows XP, Window 2003 Server and so on. But Can it support other OS ,
like UNIX or LINUX?

Thanks in advance anyone response.

Would you compile a rootkit into your kernel?

Hi Sebastian ,
Thank you for response. From what I see, It is hard to compile Windows
Media Format Software Development Kit into kernel directly.
What do you think I should do? Is COM interfaces offered by the Kit
can used in embedded Linux?

Well, at first you'd need to get a Linux port. Ask Microsoft, maybe they'll
help you with that. :-)

Now I just want to know if WM DRM 9 or 10 support embedded Linux OS. If the
answer is Yes, I would contact with Microsoft, otherwise I must pay first for
the licenses that may be not suitable.

From the Sigma Designs' web site, I learn that M$ and Sigma have cooperated
to pave the way for Low-Cost IPTV Devices based Sigma's SMP8634 processor.

But from Sigma's SMP8630 Seires introduction ,SMP 8634 support Linux OS. So
I really want to known the answer above.

Hope you can help.

From what I see, it's hard to use WMFSDK without a working DRM software
which elaborates the same "security" standards as in Windows, where a part
of the DRM system is running as kernel driver.

No. You'd need to ask Microsoft to create a DRM software for Linux.

Paying licenses for DRM is never suitable.

Having a DSP support hardware acceleration for VC-1 decoding doesn't
conclude that it also has cryptographic acceleration for DRM or actually a
DRM software for Linux either.
