Or do i need to convert them to somthing else first. Would be great if
it could do .TS save me some time. Last time i tried it just crashed
and restarted.

I did a reinstall a few weeks ago but have not tryed again. getting a
new Amd 64 Dual Core system soon and woul dlike to use that to encode
my HD captures that u have done with my HD Tuner card.

Thanks for any help.

/PS And i would like to keep the file the same as it is. Like WS how
would i do that in the settings ?

I'm having trouble deciphering what you wrote. But I think you want to
convert video_ts files to WMV ? You can try to rename the file
extension from .vob to .mpg and see if that helps (they are MPEG2
files but WME can't necessarily recognise them unless it knows that
from the file extension).

If that doesn't work, you may not have a decoder that WME can use to
decode and convert the MPEG video. It needs a "directshow compatible"
decoder. Try installing the "Elecard" or "NVidia" DVD decoders and
see if that helps.

There are guides to this process here :

Ill try renaming it to .tp and see if that works ?

My captures ar ein .TS format in HD. of free to air broadcasts. .TS
being transport steam i think.

But as they are uncompressed a hour show can take up GIGS. But if you
encode it to HD WMV would be some hundreds of megs.

Clearer now ?

WME should support any format for which you have a DirectShow
parser/decoder installed. I.e. if you can play it in Windows Media Player
then you should be able to encode it.

However ... WME seems to have some problems with HD resolutions that
haven't yet been resolved, and that could be the source of your crashing.
If you happen to have an install of XP-64 you could try the newly released
64-bit version of WME, but it can be hard to find the appropriate
codec's/filters that work with it. I haven't checked it's HD support yet.

No worky either. Says it may be an invalid sourse or unsurported. When
will the next WME be released.

Seems weird that it does not even support common HD captuew steams.
Aint it for that HD ?

Thanks for the help will prob try Tempg 3.0 Express and see how i go
with that. From what i read that supports everything i need.
