Hi - I was looking on the MS site under MediaPlayer and I can't seem to find
the answer to my question. If I run Media Server can I broadcast my radio
station using DSR 2006 and will it be part of the radio channels listed in
media player when you click radio and genre?

thanks

Yes - assuming you've read, complied, and signed in blood the arcane
licensing agreements for broadcasting copyright content on the
internet for small providers. Bear in mind as well as a fee to the
pigopolists, you'll also find you have restrictions on playlist
programming, including frequency of repeats and how many tracks from a
particular album can be played during a given (seeming;y random)
period. It's all made far too unnecessarily difficult to comprehend.

Or if you're in a more enlightened country than the USA you might not
be sued so just go ahead ;-)

No, it won't. That's an entirely separate process from publishing a
stream off a media server. You'd have to apply for that to MS.

It would be rather simpler to write a good website about your radio
channel, point the users to the URL of the media stream and then write
about it lots. There's a newsgroup alt.radio.internet where some
stations publish their playlists and web addresses, worth a look.

Thanks Neil, I called MS and they gave me an email address to write to but
it bounces back :) - Do you or anyone have the information or email address
that I need to write to to start a radio station in media player under the
radio tab?

thanks
