I would use the WM stream editor shipped with the WME SDK to extract the
audio stream, adjust and replace it.
After that you can use the WM file editor to cut the file at your leisure...

a pain.
Besides if the end result is supposed to be a WMV, it's real slow to
encode in AE.
I just want to cut the screen capture in places and adjust audio.
