C:\Program Files\Windows Media Components\Encoder wmenc.exe xxxx.wme
This works fine if someone logs onto the system. Is there a way for the
encoder to start via a service? If so how? This would be real nice in a
power outage where once the server is rebooted it would start encodeing all by
itself.

I don't believe this is supported. However, if you enable auto-logon for your
server and place a shortcut to wmenc.exe in the Startup folder, you should be
able to accomplish the same thing.
There are also apps that will run an exe as a service. I even saw one that just
monitored an exe and restarted it as necessary (forgot the name now.) |
