DNS test |

Firstly, thanks for all the help in the other threads "next door". Leaps and
bounds forward in the last week I must say ;-)
However, here is where I am now... WME & all hardware devices are configured
(almost perfectly) with two saved WME sessions (TV & Webcam) that I can flip
between.
My next task was to find a way of getting a pseudo-permanent WMP URL that I
can give to contacts - and never need to give them a new one.
On good advice I have been trying out
http://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/dyndns/
And this should be my new pseudo-permanent WMP URL -
http://adrian.dyndns.info:1219
But it doesn't seem to work (at least for me, with my WMP), and I don't
understand why.
I don't think the auto-update from the client "updater" is working
properly - I've been through all the settings thrice, and rebooted more than
I cared to - but now I am stuck.
I suspect I am 99% "there" - I just need to kick(or nudge) in the right
direction ;-)

I was able to connect and see the clip. Looked like a television program.
Some buffering occured and times where the clip seemed more like a series of
still images. My player statistics showed some frames were being dropped.

Well, WOW! It does work now - not sure that I did any more than - ate some
food, fiddle dwith the settings again, and another reboot. Late at night
here folks - but happy to report that
http://adrian.dyndns.info:1219
seems to work when copied into the File, Open URL option of Windows Media
Player (10)
My TV feed is on live now and I don't plan on changing my URL ;-) Webcam
live between 7am & 9am GMT...
Such sweet victory...

Mike,
Sorry, yes from a dial-up it will be very poor. But glad it works
nonetheless - prime objective was to redirect the IP. I'm done for tonight -
time for a beer ;-)
Sorry, too I emailed you direct ;-(
