Does anyone know of issues with trying to install Windows Media Encoder
9 on Windows XP Pro SP2?

I've tried installing it several times(WMEncoder.exe) and it always
hangs at the very last part:

Installing the Windows Media runtime files. It just sits there...I
even let it sit there for 8 hours one night.

You must have something very wrong with your system.

Try Everest from lavalys - and post the report here.
