I have two Windows 2003 Servers.

On the first, which I was given configured, I have written severall scripts
which carry out various simple tasks by expsoing the methods and properties.

I have recently bought and configured a new windows 2003 server and tried to
import my scripts. Unfortunately they do not work

I have trimmed the scripts back to try and find the problem to this point:

I can expose the Publishing Points objects which tells me I have two more
publishing point than actually exist.

When I try to loop through the publishing points collection to list the
names I get an 'Element not found error' in vbscript.

Any ideas ?

The hint came from a posting on KB Alertz.
http://www.kbalertz.com/896114/Windows.Media.Services.Series.features.available.after.install.Windows.Media.Encoder.Series.aspx

This said that if you install Windows Media Encoder after installing Windows
Server 2003 SP1 then Windows Media Encoder disabled certain advanced features.

I re-installed my server this morning and tried my script again. It
functions without a problem. I then installed a fresh copy of Windows Media
Encoder and hey presto borken again.

Now the server I have comes with SP1 already installed. How do you get
around the problem without re-installing the entire server?

Simply remove the Windows Streaming Server role and then add the role again.
