simulstream. Is it possible? In playing around with WME 9, I cannot see how
to stream at say 282k, and save a higher quality stream to hard disk. If
anyone has a workaround, I am all ears!

With a single WME instance you cannot without saving both to a single file,
and making both available to stream. By bandwidth limiting client
connections you could effectively limit them to the lower stream (not sure
if it will still try the high stream first).
As for the saved file, you can split of the streams later using the WM
Stream Editor Tool that comes with WME.
The other option is to run 2 separate encoder sessions through Osprey's
SimulStream. Each would run their own profile. |

Thanks for the reply. I have been using Simulstream thru Osprey, but I am
trying to get away from it because Viewcast no longer supports Osprey Capture
& Encoding Manager, and the latest version they have doesn't support or use
WME 9. It supports WME 7, which eliminates the option of using Push
technology.

Well, like I said it can be done into the same file with the previously
mentioned restrictions.
The other option is to use 2 capture cards, splitting the feed on entry.
In the 2 encoder sessions you can specify in the profile which card to use. |
