Need help with improving security of WMServer assets |
|
|
Our users currently log in to a CMS system, and from there they access
various clips on the WMServer. This works fine for most of our content
owners, good old "security by obscurity" model.
But recently some of my content owners have raised concern that users can
view and share links to streaming files outside of the CMS environment. So we
are looking at ways to add more security. We do not want to add another layer
of ACL's etc on the streaming server, we want single-sign on to the CMS. The
CMS vendor tells me he can "easily" send GUID's with the requests. I have no
idea how WMServer might take advantage of this though. One thought we have
had is to add some sort of blacklist feature to the WMServer that will only
allow requests from the CMS, this would force users to log in there first.
Any thoughts on what to do? Are there tools to help with this, plug-ins to
WMServer etc?
