Renaming an Encrypted File? |
|
|
I have encrypted a number of video files with WMV V9 DRM and now have a need
to rename the files after the fact. Will this present a problem for license
delivery or in any way affect the DRM functioning of these files?

No.
But you wouldn't care for that anyway, as you're obviously tranforming
media from a standard format to a proprietary format without any public
specification, while still claiming to follow the standard, and only being
playable through a proprietary platform-dependent trojan horse.

renaming a file makes no difference to the DRM system.

If you still don't get it: It's a warning that certain DRM systems,
including MSDRM, are in fact illegal. They're just condoned due to common
lawyers lack of technical understanding.
And obviously you still didn't get what Mr. Doctorow presented. [1]

Anyway, please fix your quoting. :-)
