Document DRM |

Please confirm,
It looks like this media DRM SDK and technology is mainly designed for
streaming content such as music or video. I would like to apply DRM
(restrict usage, expire, charge per use, etc) to other digital content such
as short books. I found Microsoft reader 2.0 but this seems to be missing
many of the rights manage functionality found here. Also there is Rights
Management Services but this seems to be more for enterprise information
management for corporate documents not so much for the management of digital
books content to be sold online and via subscriptions.
Several documents regarding these technologies I found on MS web site are
quite old dating back to 1998. It would seem a convergance of the this DRM
in media, with reader, and Rights Management Server sharing an underlying
framework would be a good thing - or is this already here and I just could
not find it.
If so - how can I manage the consumption, usage, lifetime, subscription of
digital books today using MS technology (and not going third party).
If not, what is recommend today and when is MS planning to bring this
together?
Thanks!
