I am attempting to play a video from a web site on IE. However, after the site with the video comes up and at least one message says that a connection is being made, I get the (Windows has encountered a problem and is shutting down) message. On two other computers in the household there is no problem. I am assuming there is something wrong with Windows Media Player configuration. I have reinstalled WMP twice and it works on other functions.

How should I go about troubleshooting this?

I also am Having the same Problem as you!!!! Irritating, but the problem is not with Windows Media Player, It is with Internet Explorer, I have found the solution to this by accident once but do not remember what it was for the life of me. I think it has something to do with Microsofts Virtual Machine. I will continue looking for the awnser and I will get back to you shortly with the fix.
