PlayForSure can't play Protected Media |

I've tried two PlayForSure logo DMR's (Roku M2000 & D-Link DSM-320) with WMC
and can't play legal downloads from MSN. I've tried 3 different PCs on my
home LAN but still can't get these devices to play. I've deinstalled and
reinstalled WMC, Windows Media Player 10 in various sequences as suggested by
other user feedback. I suspect the issue is with the WMC/DMR config because
I've tried 2 different types of devices.
Looking for suggestions/ideas.

1. Show me where to find playable media on MSN.
2. Show me any DRM implementation that is legal.
3. Show me any DRM implementation that doesn't violate its very own format
specification and could therefore be treaten as playback-capable media.
You don't have any media, you have some bunch of binary data that
absolutely noone could every garantee you to be playable. In fact you can't
even decide whether the DRM implementation actually gets its data from the
files and not through the remote control mechanism. And as they promised to
give you some media, but you didn't receive any, you have been frauded.
4. Learn quoting and fix your newsreader.

The media I am trying to play was purchased from MSN and is legally licensed
for use in this scenario. Any other suggestions?

Heres a suggestion, ignore Gottschalk. He's jsut worried that his days of
viewing pirated meida are numbered

Yeah, sure...
1. DRM can't prevent piracy in any way. If I want to, I simply take my
unmodified XPSP2 installation VMware image, take onto this DRM nonsense and
record it in the host operating system. Or patch the binaries. Or or or...
seems like you never understood how DRM works and that it's broken by
design.
2. Certainly, I have broad and deep knowledge about MS's DRM
implementation, how it works, how to circumvent, how to remove, how to
probably make it better.
3. I'm also fully aware of the juristical implications of certain
implementations of DRM. Maybe you just don't want to understand: A DRM
software is a trojan horse, giving a third party full control about
limiting access to your data and running any code on your machine against
the users intents - for absolutely no need. It furthers denies your fair
use rights, and as long as format standards are getting violated (hint: the
SMTPE VC-1 specification what a WMA is and what not, and a DRMed WMA
certainly is no WMA) it's also fraud.
BTW, you want to do some intelligent talkt about techniques like DRM, yet
you're not even able to differ between a newsreader and a remote malware
installlation utility? Not to tell about the defective quoting style...

You know plenty, why not put your intellect to good use in the DRM world and
make content producers like me happy to put our products out there?
