is the patch supplied in KB843496 supposed to update the system to version
9.01.01.3814 or is that some other update?
i have several systems that say that they have the patch (Add/Remove
Programs lists the patch and re-running the patch tells me that it is already
installed) but 3 out of 4 of our servers show version 9.00.00.3380.
REASON: 1) i want to make sure that all of our servers are configured the
same and 2) i'm having problems with a multicast announcement and KB843496
supposedly supplies a fix.
our domain admins have not approved of Windows 2003 SP1 yet so i cannot
install the service pack.
